Pines is pleased to offer services that support and help those with addiction. Addiction medicine is a medical subspecialty concerned with the prevention, evaluation, diagnosis, treatment, and recovery of persons with the disease of addiction, of those with substance-related health conditions, and of people who show unhealthy use of substances, including alcohol, opioids, nicotine, other licit and illicit drugs.
Pines Health Services, in coordination with Cary Medical Center and other partners like the Aroostook Mental Health Center, is committed to improving access to high-quality, evidence-based addiction prevention and treatment. Dr. Samuela Manages completed an Addiction Medicine Fellowship that allows her to provide preventive interventions, treatment, consultation and education for patients in the program.
